Sorry for the long silence! I took a spontaneous trip to Japan for new years then Hong Kong just in time for Chinese New Year celebrations. Now that I'm back, I'm in time for Valentine's Day! What a great day yesterday! I had great fun chatting and meeting a lot of amazing people yesterday at the Bonsor Community Centre craft fair yesterday. Thank you everyone who came by to say hi!

It's been a crazy week! My dog's been sick and has kept me up most of the night with his goose-sound coughs. It's been an overwhelming week.

I also had a late last minute request to do a bridal shower workshop. I had to put together fun projects, name tags, and a tips for the bride book. Here's what I put together quickly using the bride's wedding colors and style.

Halloween is coming again!

It's that time of year again..all the shelves in department stores that had back-to-school items have been removed and replaced with Halloween goods. It can only mean Halloween is just around the corner!

To prepare for such a fun event, I started off with this card using the Trick or Treat letterpress plate on the Big Shot. I also used the Petite Pennant Builder punch 122361 ($22.95) to make those corn candies!

Upcycle!

As much as I love papercrafting, I also love finding junk and turning it into something useful and fun!
I spent my weekend cleaning out the house of things sitting around and came across an old vintage suitcase in the garage. I knew I must keep it but at the same I don't want it to sit there. I know how much my dog, Bun Bun loves hopping into my suitcase whenever I pack so I made this suitcase his and turned it into his new bed.
He loves it!! Now it's easier to get him packing for sleepovers!

Today's card is one I did as a make and take at my incentive trip to the Sunshine Coast I earned as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator from my upline, Kari.

As it turns out, Kari adores the Creative Elements stamp set as much as I do! We just can't stop using this set!

Promotions retreat project

During my unforgettable getaway that I earned from my upline to Sunshine Coast last month, I got to do a few make and take projects as well!
The first one is a must have for all getaways to give yourself a few moments of spa-like experience.

My awesome upline, Kari pre-sewed these eye pillows and had us fill it up with rice mixed with rejuvenating scents!

We had so much fun putting it together!

After last night's amazing dinner at my upline's house where she treated all her downline who promoted last year, I was swept away by her to The Sunshine Coast for my all inclusive weekend getaway! This trip was for those who promoted to a certain level last year.

We slept in this morning (at a wonderful oceanview cabin), ate breakfast, and crafted in our jammies!
Can you guess what we are making? Come back to my blog soon because I'll be posting our weekend projects!

Unfortunately I had to cut my trip short because I'm going to a wedding tomorrow. It was sad to leave an awesome getaway where I got spoiled every minute! Hopefully I can earn next year's trip too! It'll be my third if I earn it again.

So again this year, I earned a secret all-inclusive weekend getaway thru my upline. It's so secretive that I won't know where I'm going until I get there. Feels like I'm getting "kidnapped" but of course in an exciting and fun way!

I just realized that I haven't had a chance to show my other convention swap card. I actually swapped out all my cards and forgot to keep one to myself so I had to take a photo of it at my upline's place.

I used the Nature Walk stampset on this card and used the clear block to stamp the background color. Neat, ya? The clear block by itself can be a stamp!
Just a little hint of what is to come in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog..there's a new tool to make this card a whole lot quicker! Wait til September 1st to see what it's all about! New mini catalog is out then!

Due to recent requests, I will be starting a new stamp club series. This third series is called the Fabric Club!
The first project that we will be doing is this cute hat cushion!

This class will be on Sunday, August 28 @5:00-7:00

As a club member, your benefits include
1. receiving a minimum of $35 to spend on anything on your hostess month,
2. 5 free fabric classes with full printed instructions and supplies to complete the projects,
3. and all the catalogs that are released during the 5 month period.

Cling that 'stash!

Did you know that you can now change your wood-mount stamps to clear-mounts?
All you need is the clear-mount cling foam!
Here's a quick tutorial on how to switch!
I used the new and trendy Many Mustaches

1. Trim your wood mount stamp if necessary

2. Peel the rubber away from the adhesive of the woodmount

3. Press the back side of the rubber to the adhesive side (very sticky side) of the foam.

4. Trim to size and you're done!

Please note that you will not be able to use the sticker to this cling foam because the woodmount stickers were not made to cling.

Here's a quick sneak peak of a project we did at convention. This was one of an evening optional class and I'm so glad I opt-in for it! It was so much fun! We were even fed cupcakes all night! I will reveal the rest of this project and perhaps an upcoming class with you tomorrow!

There were so much left overs after the class..so sad to think where they'd end up if not enjoyed by our tummies!

Convention at the Stampin' Up! Headquarters was amazing! It was wonderful to be in Salt Lake City for the sun and away from thr Vancouver rain!
At the event, of course there would be breath-taking product show case! Last year's product showcase was the candy shoppe. This year was backyard garden.

Isn't this cute!? Oh no! There's so much more! So much that my camera ran out of memory!!But hope you enjoy what I have here! I'll post more updates of convention soon!

My day job's been keeping me tired after work and home renovations is a pain. I'm trying to build a new studio for my workshops. It'll be excitung to see the new room but it's been hectic tidying the room up to start any renos!

Join us for a fundraiser supporting the Canadian Red Cross benefitting the Japanese earthquake relief project. The earthquake may have happened almost 2 months ago but thousands are still living in shelters, and most likely they remain in them for the next 2 years.

Come out on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 1:00-4:00 for a fun afternoon of crafting, food, and laughs. We will be making greeting cards, Japanese origami and Japanese calligraphy. Come learn the craft culture of this unique country!

Earthquake relief

As a survivor of a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Japan 4 years ago. I am deeply affected and traumatized by the events over the last couple of days. Myself living through a 6.8 earthquake was terrifying enough. So to think what an 8.8 scale quake is just horrifying. Even just 0.1 points in the scale intensifies the earthquake by 10 fold! Thinking what I've experienced but 200x worst just feels like I was punched in the gut.In the wake of all the devastating news over the past days, I've decided to pull together a fundraiser to send relief funds to the Canadian Red Cross benefitting those affected in Japan.

I will be doing different activities such as card making, Japanese calligraphy, origami and lots more. Come experience a funD day of Japanese craft while helping those in Japan.

Save the date! This event will take place on either March 26 or 27. Actual date, time, and venue is to be confirmed depending on the venue providers. Please stay tuned.

So sorry for the lack of update. I've been really busy catching up with things and now in a blink of an eye, it's December!
Are you ready for Christmas? I'm certainly am, and I can't wait to put up my decorations this weekend!
Speaking of decorations, here's a look at what we made at my new 3D club.

It's a birdhouse made out of the milk carton big shot die! And I made a little Ms. Santa Owl to go with it. I plan to put a few of these on my Christmas tree and fill the birdhouses nest with jelly bellies. Yes, I will try to make my Christmas tree this year delicious! Filled with hidden goodies here and there! hopefully my dog doesn't get to the chocolates like he did last year.

Christmas Craft Fundraiser!

November's Christmas Stamp-a-stack

With last stamp-a-stack, I incorporated the Holiday Handmade gift bundles into our class. The 3rd design of the stack is not shown here. But again you will make 9 cards of 3 designs each.

PPA60 - Halloween Challenge

I've been meaning to join a card challenge, but always thought that I'm for sure not comparable to the other submissions. But oh well, I don't think that matters anymore. Craft isn't about rights or wrongs, so I'm joining my first challenge today!

I'm doing the Pals Paper Art Challenge and this week's theme is Halloween!

So here it goes..Inspired by my fave Halloween character, Wicked's witch. Here's the Witch's Shoe.

You can't really tell from the picture, but I used Pumpkin Pie Craft ink to sponge the side of the shoe.

Revealing a day late

As promised a couple of days ago that I will release the reveal of the project a day later.

Turned out to be 2 days later. So sorry to keep you all anxiously looking at my blog to find out what it is. Here it is! It's not a stocking, but instead it's a stiletto boot! I used the deck the halls designer fabric and embellished it with various Stampin' Up! buttons and vintage brads.

I wanted to keep the vintage look and didn't want to make yet another stocking, so I drew up a boot and turned it to something that I can WOW Santa with this year! I sure hope he appreciates craft!

Blowout Sale/Open House Hit!

Thanks to everyone who came out even in the rain to my retired item blowout sale and open house yesterday!!
You guys were quick!! My stash of products were cleared off my tables within the first 30 minutes!! I applaud you bargain hunters! I'm sure you all found some good treasures and are able to put my beloved stamp sets and big shot dies into good use.
There were about 20+ who came out. I was so filled with excitement about meeting everyone of you that I didn't realize that I was overly tired until I closed the door for the last guest. Right away I got a migraine headache. :(

SOO I haven't picked out the door prize winners yet. Please stay tuned for that!

In the meantime, for those who couldn't come out for the event, here's some of the projects that were on display.

I demonstrated the new Big Shot Candy Wrapper die. Isn't this cute? Perfect for little Halloween treats! Great for party favors too!

So with all the Christmas projects that I've been making and blogging about, I almost forgot Halloween!

I made this quick punch art card with my circle and oval punch. To make the howling ghosts, I used the, believe it or not, the Two-Step Owl punch! Isn't this cute?

I cased this project from Michelle Scileppi. I found her project thru Stampin' Connection which only demonstrators have access to.
