Dolled up Birthday Card

Stampin' Up! recently had a "Submit a Project" survey where anyone could submit a project and the winning project will in turn be produced into kits for everyone else to craft. The winner, Chris Gilmore was just announced yesterday. She won a $100 Stampin' Up! shopping spree. She submitted a card that was very worthy of case-ing.

The card used doilies in a very subtle way that it doesn't over power the dress form. It is such a great idea for a Mother's Day card!

A Perfect Wedding Shower Card

Happy Wednesday! 2013 is the year of weddings! I've already received 5 wedding invitations for this year in Vancouver alone. So to prepare for all the celebrations, I'm creating a stash of bridal shower cards that I can have handy.

I used the Dress Up framelits on the Big Shot to cut out the basic dress then used the new Stampin' Up! paper doilies featured in the Spring catalogue to complete the dress.
Here's a quick tutorial. Fold the one doily slightly less than half and then fold one corner inward to complete a triangle.

Prepare for Easter Card

Today is the first day of Lent. That means there's only 40 days of preparation left until Easter. To start the season off, my Creative Wednesday project features the Crosses of Hope stamp set.

The cross was embossed in gold to highlight the fine flourish details in the cross.

I used the Ovals Collection Framelits to cut out the oval shape. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted the bigger oval or the smaller oval. So I stamped my image and cut out the oval using the bigger size die. It's always safe to go for the bigger one and then downsize if it turns out too big. You won't be able to upsize if you start with cutting out a smaller image.

Feeling Sentimental Celebration

Featuring one of the free stamp sets that you can earn during Sale-a-bration, I crafted this card using the Feeling Sentimental stamp set. I really like the vintage and intricate details of this stamp set. It really brings back old memories. Very sentimental.

I paired this stamp set with the World Spectacular designer series paper to draw out the imagery of the old-fashioned carnival rides.
