It's that month again! Movember!
And who says women can't do anything mustache worthy in the disturbing month of overgrown mustaches and beards?

To help raise awareness to prostate cancer and fundraise for research, I will be donating $2 to the  Prostate Cancer Foundation BC for every  Many Mustaches stamp set purchased thru me in November.

World Vision Fundraiser

In response to the famine in Africa and the Government of Canada's part in doubling every dollar donated to World Vision Canada, I will be doing a card stack fundraising event.
In this card stack, you will make 20 greeting cards that can last you for the rest of the year! (inspired by Sara Douglass' Convention presention)
There is enough supplies in the accent kit to make 40 cards even!!

It's been a while (again)!

Sorry for the delay in updating!
The May fundraiser for the Canadian Red Cross went great! The total of all funds collected from March to May, I raised $500+! Thank you everyone for their contributions!

Now to the next event.
I was approached by a good friend, Joyce who has lost her mother to cancer, to help raise funds to the Canadian Cancer Society. With my own grandpa fighting cancer, I can't say no!
Joyce and a team of her buddies will be participating in the 24 Hour Relay for Life benefitting the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).

To support her team, we will be doing a craft day featuring a cute album perfect for a Father's Day gift.

For $15, you can make this faux-leather album! Proceeds of this class will go towards CCS.

Red Cross Fundraiser May 7, 2011

Join us for a fundraiser supporting the Canadian Red Cross benefitting the Japanese earthquake relief project. The earthquake may have happened almost 2 months ago but thousands are still living in shelters, and most likely they remain in them for the next 2 years.

Come out on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 1:00-4:00 for a fun afternoon of crafting, food, and laughs. We will be making greeting cards, Japanese origami and Japanese calligraphy. Come learn the craft culture of this unique country!

In response to the recent disaster in Japan, come join me in fundraising for those who are affected by the earthquake in Japan. All proceeds from this class will benefit the Canadian Red Cross.

You will make a set of thank you cards (all materials included) using the Nature Walk stampset. These cards were the actual make and takes from the Vancouver Stampin' Up! Regionals. So an as extra exclusive, you get to walk away with what demonstrators at the Regionals learnt!

Earthquake relief

As a survivor of a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Japan 4 years ago. I am deeply affected and traumatized by the events over the last couple of days. Myself living through a 6.8 earthquake was terrifying enough. So to think what an 8.8 scale quake is just horrifying. Even just 0.1 points in the scale intensifies the earthquake by 10 fold! Thinking what I've experienced but 200x worst just feels like I was punched in the gut.In the wake of all the devastating news over the past days, I've decided to pull together a fundraiser to send relief funds to the Canadian Red Cross benefitting those affected in Japan.

I will be doing different activities such as card making, Japanese calligraphy, origami and lots more. Come experience a funD day of Japanese craft while helping those in Japan.

Save the date! This event will take place on either March 26 or 27. Actual date, time, and venue is to be confirmed depending on the venue providers. Please stay tuned.

Christmas Craft Fundraiser!

Come join us for an afternoon of crafting and fun all benefiting the Tapestry Foundation of Mt. St. Joseph Hospital. All funds collected will be designated towards the purchase of a much needed Echocardiography and a Holter Monitor Analysis Unit for the Mt. St. Joseph Hospital.

Craft for Kids Cheque Presentation

To wrap-up the first annual Craft for Kids event, we delivered more than 100 Build-A-Bear kits to the patients of the BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver and presented our donations to the Foundation. We raised a total of $710!! Thank you to all those who participated! We felt that the kids at the hospital will benefit from our craft kits which will keep them occupied for awhile!

This will be our annual event, so be prepared and start spreading the word about this amazing event!

In the meantime, I'd like to announce another fundraising event coming up on November 27 featuring Christmas Crafts. All proceeds of that event will go towards the Tapestry Foundation of Providence Health Care (Mt. St. Joseph Hospital). This event will again be held at the Mt. Pleasant Community Centre on Main St, Vancouver.

First Annual Craft for Kids Fundraiser

 Thank you everyone who participated in this weekend's Craft for Kids Fundraiser benefiting the BC Children's Hospital Foundation. There were about 60 participated and all of us had tons of fun!! It was a great event! over 70 sets of Build-a-Bear kits were made that day. I can't wait to have a second annual BC Children's hospital foundation fundraiser next year!!

It was very heartwarming day, especially when the young participants did not hesitate to give up the bears they made to those at the hospital. The best part of the day was when some children asked me if they can come with me to the hospital to visit and deliver the kits to the children at the hospital.

I'd like to thank 24 Hours Vancouver, ING DIRECT, and Mt. Pleasant Community Centre for sponsoring this event. Also a huge thank you to all those volunteers who helped made this event so successful!!

I will be presenting the cheque and delivering the bear kits to the children at the hospital on Tuesday, July 13 at 1pm. If you are interested in helping me deliver these kits, please let me know. Children are also welcome to come.

Everyone is invited to attend this one day event to make a box set of coloring kit and a paper build-a-bear (inspired by my downline, Kari) set for patients currently at the BC Children's Hospital.

Pledges, raffle prizes and silent auctions will be available thru out the event. I will be raffling off a BIG SHOT machine!! All proceeds will go towards BC Children's Hospital Foundation. All box sets made at the event are also donated to children at the hospital. Everyone will also make a project to bring home for themselves.

Bring a friend and share the joy of crafting with others and most of all children in need.
