DIY Button for your Scrapbook

There's just 2 days left before the retiring items are gone forever. I've been trying to scrapbook as much as I can with these retiring items. One item I will miss for sure is the Timeless Portrait Designer Series Paper.
This scrapbook page is made to remember the silly times my friend, Kelly and I had when we thought we made it to the Ninja Temple. After posing ninja poses outside a temple, a monk comes out to tell us we were at the wrong time.

In this layout, I made my own fabric buttons. It's very simple!

Here's how.
Take a button, trim enough Sticky Pages to cover the button, then trim enough fabric to cover and wrap around the button. TA-DA! this adds a new type of texture to your pages and cards. Give it a try!

Retiring products open house

I'd like to start today's post by thanking all those who came out (even during the long weekend) to my Retiring product open house last weekend. It was a fun afternoon of crafting and chatting. I always love the feeling of being able to inspire others with my projects.

Besides a fun afternoon of chatting and demonstrators, we did make and takes!

We made a simple single-layered card using the retiring Vintage Vogue stampset and the Curvy Verses stampset. The Vintage Vogue stampset is one of the stampsets that I will miss the most on the retiring list. It will definitely be one of the sets that I will keep for sure. Not only is it elegant but also it was a stamp set that Shelli Gardner came to use when she was at my Workshop of a Lifetime in my living room.

Stamp Club during Earth Hour

Our stamp club was last Saturday and it happened to land on Earth Hour part way thru the class. So we shut off all the power put away the heat gun and brought out candles.

Stamping in the dark was rather tricky but it was a big twist to what we normally do. It made us realize how crafting back when there were no electricity around was like....

Nevertheless, all of us were able to complete our projects and all of them turned out to be master pieces. This was one of the cards we made that evening in darkness.

Monkeys and Open Houses
