Creative Styling Wednesday

Keeping the project within this month's stamp club technique, I used the Triple Stamping Technique to craft this project. I kept the colors simple and clean for this project.
Do you ever have color problems with your project? Deciding which colors go together in your project is really a personal choice and a skill that can only be honed through practice. But Stampin' Up! has a Color Coach that can help you get your project started the way you want it. Just pick a color to start and let the coach guide you with it's suggested coordinating colors.

Happy I Do Day Wedding Card

Happy I Do Day Wedding Card by Ida Chan
One of the newest Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the Big shot and my new favourite is the Lacy Brocade Folder. This item is found in the Holiday Mini Catalogue. Although it is in this Holiday Mini, it does not necessarily mean it is only for Christmas projects. The lacy patterns on the folder can make any project outstanding and simply elegant.

I made a quick and simple wedding card using the Lacy Brocade embossing folder and the Apothecary Accents framelits and the set designer frames folder.

Daring the Raspberry Ripple

Another week has gone by and today is another Wednesday. I didn't craft as much as I normally do in a week. So today I am pulling out what I demonstrated in my last open house instead. For those of you who didn't come to my open house in June, this is what you missed.
I used the From My Heart stamp set and merged the stunning Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals in-colors  together to complete this card. I also used a Raspberry Ripple Stitch Satin Ribbon with the card.
Remember you can get a spool of this ribbon for free in September with our Back to Spool promotion!

Don't be late with my card reveals!! Come to my Holiday Soiree this week! September 20 and 21 from 7:30pm-9:30pm for a fun-filled evening of crafting, ideas, laughs and new friends!

Triple Stamping Technique - Ornament Keepsakes

For the month of September, my regular stamping technique club meeting has moved up to tonight due to one of the member leaving for a quick vacation.

This month I am featuring the triple stamping technique that has recently been made popular by Dawn Olchefske. So I'm just hopping on the bandwagon and re-creating her technique using the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set.

My regular stamp club is on the very last Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm.

If you are interested in completing this month's stamp club projects (2 featured projects) at a drop-in rate of $12, I can run this class again upon request.

I am also still accepting new stamp club members!
Clubs run out of my home studio in Vancouver.

You're Amazing Birthday Card

I think I'm really enjoying creative challenges. This week I'm playing along with the Stampin' Royalty challenge again. This week is a picture inspiration challenge. The You're Amazing stamp set is now my "to go" stamp set for creating birthday cards.

I also used the coordinating designer series paper, World Spectacular with this stamp set. Trimmed the paper to a fun banner shape and then sewed the banners side by side together.
And of course, I added embossing using the now super trendy Chevron Textured Impression Folder.

I then finished off the card with the color spritzer using the 2012-2013 in-colors and gave the card some bling with rhinestones. A very quick and simple card using minimal tools, stamps and accessories.

Evergreen Creative Wednesday

Another week has gone pass and through out the week I couldn't wait for another Wednesday reveal!

Evergreen Christmas Card by Ida Chan Stampin' Up!
Today is another Creative Wednesday Project. This week's project is a Christmas card crafted with the Evergreen Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Catalogue. The set has a stamp of a tree's silhouette and the words to Silent Night.
By the way of the photo you may be able to see the clear embossing I did with the outline of the tree stamp to give the card greater detail and texture.

Creative Wednesday Stampin' Tip:
  • Use the Embossing Buddy over the paper you are about to emboss on to remove any static.

Postage Due and Color Combo

Postage Due Card by Ida Chan, Stampin' Up!
I was blog surfing late last night to realize that I haven't done a challenge this month. So I hopped over to Stampin' Royalty and immediately fell in love with the color combo for this week's challenge.
The colors are Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, and Pool Party. Who would've known that Pool Party works so  amazing with neutral colors.

I have wanted to use the Postage Due stamp set for a long time and I wanted to put it into good use for this week's challenge. Hope it's a good stamp selection for this color combo.

First Creative Wednesdays

Perfectly Preserved by Ida Chan, Stampin' Up!
I have just decided to blog consistently every Wednesday starting from today. Be sure to check my blog Wednesday weekly for new projects and inspiration. I will of course continue to update the blog not just on Wednesdays -- so check back often.

For this week's creative Wednesday post, I am showcasing what our stamp club did last week.
Perfectly Preserved by Ida Chan, Stampin' Up!
We used the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and Cannery Set framelits. Stampin' Up! Window Sheets were used to create a cute clear jar on the card.

Creative Wednesday Stampin' Tip:
  • Use Stazon ink only on the window sheets.
