Birds of a Feather Diaper Cake

It's definitely a year of weddings and babies this year. I've especially enjoyed shopping for baby clothes and accessories for friends upcoming births. Little tiny onesies and booties are just the cutest! Not to mention the fun colorful toys!

The best part of shopping for baby knick knacks is putting everything together in the perfect presentable way.

As seen recently in many pinterest pins, I thought I'd give the diaper cake a try. After all,  babies can't eat cake but still deserve the biggest piece of the cake.

I bundled up the diapers and tied up each cake tier with the Birds of a Feather Designer Series Paper that is now a retiring item at 25% off and be sold only until June 3. I then tied a ribbon around the paper and finally load up the toys on top!

A very fun gift and the mommy-to-be reaction from receiving this gift is just priceless.

A Layered Labels Wedding

The first of the many weddings that I've been invited to this year begins this Saturday. That means..wedding cards!!

Spring wedding cards are a bit different to do. There's always the tough decision on which warm spring tone to put on the card. To help make starting the wedding card quicker, I referred to the wedding invitation that the bride and her helpers had made with Stampin' Up! cardstock. Her wedding color includes the 2011-2013 in-color Calypso Coral. So I matched it with a coordinating pink and of course a doily!

The stamp set I used here is the Layered Labels set.

DIY Button for your Scrapbook

There's just 2 days left before the retiring items are gone forever. I've been trying to scrapbook as much as I can with these retiring items. One item I will miss for sure is the Timeless Portrait Designer Series Paper.
This scrapbook page is made to remember the silly times my friend, Kelly and I had when we thought we made it to the Ninja Temple. After posing ninja poses outside a temple, a monk comes out to tell us we were at the wrong time.

In this layout, I made my own fabric buttons. It's very simple!

Here's how.
Take a button, trim enough Sticky Pages to cover the button, then trim enough fabric to cover and wrap around the button. TA-DA! this adds a new type of texture to your pages and cards. Give it a try!

Retiring products open house

I'd like to start today's post by thanking all those who came out (even during the long weekend) to my Retiring product open house last weekend. It was a fun afternoon of crafting and chatting. I always love the feeling of being able to inspire others with my projects.

If you haven't been to my open houses or workshops, contact me and we can arrange an event exclusive for you and your friends.

Besides a fun afternoon of chatting and demonstrators, we did make and takes!

We made a simple single-layered card using the retiring Vintage Vogue stampset and the Curvy Verses stampset. The Vintage Vogue stampset is one of the stampsets that I will miss the most on the retiring list. It will definitely be one of the sets that I will keep for sure. Not only is it elegant but also it was a stamp set that Shelli Gardner came to use when she was at my Workshop of a Lifetime in my living room.

Just released is the list of retiring Stampin' Up! accessories. Some items are discounted at 70% off and will be available while supplies last until May 31, 2012.

When you look at the retired accessories list, you'll note that all of our Stampin' Pads are listed.

This is for two reasons: (1) Craft Stampin' Pads will now only be available in black and white; and (2) we are introducing a new Firm Foam pad in our Classic Stampin' Pads with the 2012-2013 annual catalog.The Firm Foam pads offer better ink pad longetivity and ink coverage and, in turn, better stamped images. Fear not that these colors will be retiring!

In addition, please note the following about the new catalog:

• Only select Stampin' Write Markers will be available individually (Stampin' Write Markers in color collections will continue to be offered)  
• 12" x 12" Textured Card Stock will no longer be offered
• 12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections
