Forever Young Water-colour Wash

Happy Halloween! A rainy Halloween in Vancouver. Using water as our theme in our Creative Wednesday project I feature the water-colour wash technique.

With this project, I tried a colour combo that I have never used before. The Summer Starfruit ribbon shines vibrantly with the Midnight Muse colour. The colours for the water-colour wash are Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze and Marina Mist.

Christmas Craft Tag

I don't know how much I've been stressing on keeping Christmas cards and projects as simple as you can as I am sure you have many other holiday things to do before the big day. So here I am again presenting to you today my Creative Wednesday project.

I crafted a simple Christmas craft tag using the elegant tree from the Forever Young stamp set. Keeping the card in monotone color and adding a little bit of spark with the Cherry Cobbler red to complete this chic Christmas tag.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Creative Wednesday project. Be sure to check back next Wednesday for another Creative Wednesday reveal.

Reminder: FREE PAPER PIERCING PACK OFFER!   During October, get a FREE pack of Festive Paper Piercing Pack with qualifying Ornament Keepsakes bundle.  Learn more about the Free Paper Piercing Pack promotion!

My scrapbook sequence

Where do you put your photos that are waiting to be scrapbooked?

I put mine in a photo album. But even the simpliest looking store-bought photo album needs work. I covered the front of my photo album with a piece of chipboard and dressed it up with a the Timeless Portrait designer series paper then accessorized and stamped the rest.

I decorate my photo album so I can be inspired to pick up the album and scrapbook the photos inside.
So today, as inspired by the album cover page, I started my scrapbook layout with the Timeless Portrait designer series paper (as found on the retiring accessories list.)

With this layout, I wanted to highlight the sequence of tagging two "lucky stumps" at a temple in Japan. There's a saying where if you tag the stumps 100 times, your dreams will come true. Too bad I didn't finish the 100 tags.

Perhaps if I flip to this page 100 times my dreams will come true.

Iron Stampers Altered Item Project

The next Iron Stampers project is the one I’m most excited about! It’s a paper dress-form banner. When I first received my Stampin’ Up! Labels Collection Framelits, I had to think of what else I can craft besides fancy labels and frames. FRAMES! That’s what it was!

I thought if everyone is taking the cut out inside of the labels, I’m going to take the outsides! Piecing things together I discovered that I can craft out miniature paper dress-forms! The base of the dress-forms is also the leftovers of what was cut out making the dress-forms from the Big Shot Framelits.

Once I got the cut outs of the dress-forms, it was time for dressing up the forms! For a moment I felt like I was a fashion designer. There wasn’t much stamping involved in this project. The key was using embellishments! Lots and lots of them!

Quick and Easy Card

Forever Young card by Ida Chan Stampin' Up! VancouverLast night I had a great evening of crafting with other fellow demonstrators at an exclusive monthly demostrator only crafting night. This is the evening where I get to plan and handmake my card classes for the next month, or simply just have a stress-free creative evening.

One card I made was a sample for the new Quick and Simple stamp club. This card was handmade with the Forever Young stampset. I really love how you can transform a timeless stampset and bring to life a quick and simple 5 minute card.

Want to see more cards like these? join my Quick and Simple Stamp Club.

We meet every last Wednesday and Thursday evening of each month in my Vancouver home (East Vancouver Killarney area)! Contact Ida Chan for more details.
